According to the National Weather Service in Raleigh, visibility may fall to 0.25 mile or less across the northern-central Piedmont and Coastal Plain through mid-morning. Forecasters warn that low visibility could make driving hazardous, especially near school zones and busy interchanges.
Slow down and use low-beam headlights. Leave extra distance between vehicles.
Conditions should gradually improve by late morning as the fog lifts and clouds thin. By afternoon, showers and thunderstorms become likely, mainly after noon.
