Beaver, UT Weather Alert: 5 Inches Snow Targeting I-15 Until 9AM Friday

Cedar City, Utah – Snow will begin sticking to I-15 before midnight, and drivers across southern and central Utah have hours to prepare before 2 to 8 inches create slick highways through Friday morning.

According to the National Weather Service in Salt Lake City, multiple Winter Weather Advisories remain in effect across southwest, central and eastern Utah. Snow will build in Thursday evening, with the heaviest accumulation expected overnight into Friday. In southwest Utah, including Beaver, Cedar City and Milford, 2 to 5 inches are expected through 9 a.m. Friday.

Across Castle Country and the San Rafael Swell, including Price, Green River and Castle Dale, totals of 2 to 5 inches may fall by 9 a.m., leading to winter driving conditions on US-6, Highway 10 and stretches of I-70. In the Wasatch Plateau and Book Cliffs, including Scofield and Indian Canyon, 3 to 8 inches are possible through 6 p.m. Friday, with higher elevations seeing the deepest accumulation.

The Upper Sevier River Valleys and Bryce Canyon Country could see between 2 and 8 inches by 9 a.m. Friday, impacting travel along Highway 12 and US-89. Eastern Juab, Sanpete and Sevier valleys, including Nephi, Ephraim and Richfield, may pick up 2 to 6 inches through 6 p.m. Friday.

Drivers should slow down, increase following distance and check UDOT traffic conditions before traveling. Snowfall will taper from west to east late Friday morning in southern zones, but central mountain areas may continue seeing impacts into the afternoon. Additional updates are possible if snowfall rates intensify overnight.
