Oregon – Snow is sticking to rooftops and turning sections of I-5 slick across the Rogue Valley this morning as temperatures hover near 34 degrees and light snow continues to fall.
According to the National Weather Service in Medford, a Winter Storm Warning remains in effect above 2,000 feet and a Winter Weather Advisory continues below 2,000 feet until 10 a.m. Heavy snow has produced 2 to 6 inches in higher elevations, with 1 to 3 inches possible in lower elevations, including parts of Medford, Ashland, and Jacksonville. Most of the steady snow fell between 2 a.m. and 7 a.m., with lighter showers tapering through mid-morning.
Roads remain slick, especially on elevated stretches of I-5, Highway 140, Highway 238, and Jacksonville Hill. Snow levels have dropped to valley floors. Bridges and shaded areas could stay icy even after snowfall eases. Plan for delays and use caution. Keep emergency supplies in your vehicle and check tripcheck.com before heading out.
Conditions gradually improve later today with highs near 40 degrees and a transition toward rain showers. Tonight turns colder, with lows near 21 degrees under mostly cloudy skies. Any leftover moisture may refreeze by sunrise, creating additional icy spots.
Friday brings partial sunshine and highs in the low 40s. The weekend trends milder. Saturday reaches the upper 40s, and Sunday climbs into the low 50s with rain returning.
Early next week stays wet but moderates further, with highs in the low 50s and hints of gradual warming beyond midweek.
