Washington – A cold, gray sky hangs over Seattle this morning, and a few light rain and snow showers are brushing neighborhoods just as commuters step onto damp sidewalks and merge onto I-5.

Temperatures sit in the mid-30s, cold enough for a brief rain-snow mix at times. According to the National Weather Service in Seattle, there is a slight chance of rain and snow showers through early afternoon, with highs struggling near 39 degrees. North to northwest winds remain light, but pavement temperatures are marginal.

While no accumulation is expected, slushy bursts could briefly reduce visibility. Elevated surfaces, including overpasses on I-5 and Highway 99, may turn slick if heavier showers pass through. This is prime February timing for spotty slick patches. If snow melts during the day and temperatures drop back toward 29 degrees tonight, isolated icy spots could form before sunrise.

Clouds decrease later tonight with lows dipping into the upper 20s. Friday moderates slightly with highs near 43 degrees under mostly cloudy skies.

The weekend shifts gears. Saturday brings a renewed chance of rain and even a brief rain-snow mix early, with highs near 49 degrees. By Sunday, steadier rain arrives and temperatures climb into the lower 50s. Rain continues into early next week, but readings trend milder, reaching the lower 50s Monday and near 50 again Tuesday.

Longer-range outlooks hint at gradual moderation heading into late February, with signs of spring warmth building beyond the 6–10 day window.
