Michigan – A damp haze clings to the Grand River this morning, softening streetlights and beading moisture on windshields across downtown Grand Rapids.

Temperatures sit near 35 degrees at Gerald R. Ford International Airport. Areas of dense fog linger in parts of central and southern Michigan. Visibility can change quickly on I-96 and US-131. Slow down where fog thickens.

Skies stay mostly cloudy today with a high near 55 degrees. Showers develop after 2 p.m., and a rumble of thunder is possible. Winds increase out of the southeast, gusting near 18 mph. Keep rain gear handy if you’re out this afternoon.

Showers become widespread tonight. Lows settle near 38 degrees. Rainfall amounts remain light to moderate, but wet pavement will greet early drivers.

Friday brings a sharp shift. Rain continues before 1 p.m., then colder air pushes in. Showers mix with and change to snow by late afternoon. Winds could gust near 45 mph. That combination may create slick spots and brief visibility drops.

Friday night stays mostly cloudy with a slight chance of snow showers. Lows fall to around 32 degrees. Any leftover moisture could refreeze, leading to icy patches.

Saturday remains cloudy with a chance of snow showers and highs near 37. Snow showers become likely Saturday night and into Sunday. Sunday’s high reaches only 34 degrees, with additional snow showers possible. Light accumulations may make roads occasionally slick.

Monday turns partly sunny but colder, with a high near 32. Gradual moderation follows into midweek, with highs climbing into the 40s. Longer-range trends suggest hints of Spring Warmth building late next week.
