Boston, Massachusetts – A developing storm system is expected to bring up to 8 inches of snow to parts of Upper New England late Friday into Saturday, potentially disrupting travel across the region.

According to the NOAA National Weather Service Weather Prediction Center, an area of low pressure will track east from the Midwest before spreading locally heavy snowfall into northern New York and much of New England. Forecasters project a swath of 4 to 8 inches across portions of Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine, with lighter amounts farther south.

Some interior areas could also see light ice accumulations before precipitation transitions fully to snow, creating slick road conditions.

The heaviest snowfall is expected Friday night into early Saturday, which may impact overnight travel and early weekend plans. Drivers, students, and workers with Saturday commitments are encouraged to monitor updated local forecasts as snowfall totals may shift depending on the storm’s exact track.
