Colorado – Light flakes mix with brisk southwest wind across Denver this morning, and the air feels sharp at 33 degrees. Wet pavement glistens under early light. A few snow showers could briefly reduce visibility before midday, especially west toward the foothills and along I-70.

According to the National Weather Service in Denver/Boulder, periods of snow and blowing snow continue in the mountains today. Totals of 3 to 8 inches are expected above 9,000 feet, with up to a foot in the Park Range and near Rabbit Ears Pass. In Denver, a slight chance of snow showers develops late morning into early afternoon, with little accumulation expected. Highs reach the mid-50s before cooler air filters in.

Southwest winds increase to 10 to 17 mph, with gusts near 26 mph. Stronger gusts up to 75 mph are possible in foothill zones. Drivers along I-70 west of Golden should expect snow-covered stretches and bursts of blowing snow by late afternoon. Plan extra time if heading into the high country.

Skies clear tonight with lows near 23 degrees. Any moisture left on roads could refreeze, creating slick patches before sunrise. This is prime flash-freeze season across the Front Range.

Thursday turns mostly sunny near 39. A slight snow chance returns late Thursday night. Snow becomes more likely Friday, with highs near 35 and light accumulation possible in Denver. Saturday rebounds to the mid-40s under sun, and Sunday pushes near 50.

Early next week hints at spring warmth. Highs climb into the 60s by Monday and could approach the upper 60s Tuesday. Traveling through the mountains today or Friday? Share what you’re seeing on I-70 and C-470.
