Michigan — Headlights glow in thick fog across metro Detroit, and visibility drops to a few car lengths along I-75 and I-94. Temperatures sit near 41 degrees, but the bigger issue before sunrise is dense mist hanging over the city.
A Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 a.m. for southeast Michigan. Drivers should slow down, use low beams, and allow extra distance. Conditions may improve late this morning, with highs reaching 45 under mostly cloudy skies.
Rain pushes in late tonight and becomes widespread by daybreak Wednesday. Showers carry an 80 percent chance, and a rumble of thunder is possible as the system strengthens. Winds could gust above 20 mph, adding to slick pavement during the morning commute.
There is also a brief freezing rain concern in parts of the northern Thumb and northern Bay counties before temperatures rise above freezing around 3 a.m. Even a light glaze could create icy bridges.
Wednesday climbs to 58 degrees before cooler air returns. Thursday brings a 30 percent chance of rain and highs near 46. Rain becomes likely again Thursday night.
Friday turns quieter with highs near 48. By Saturday night, temperatures dip to 29 with a chance of snow after 1 a.m. Sunday holds a 35-degree high with another chance of snow, keeping February’s winter grip in place.
