Atlanta, Georgia – Temperatures will climb into the mid to upper 70s by Thursday and Friday across North and Central Georgia, running more than 15 degrees above normal.
According to the US National Weather Service in Peachtree City, dry conditions will persist through Wednesday before rain chances gradually increase late Thursday into Friday. High temperatures in the Metro Atlanta area are forecast to reach 76 degrees Thursday and 75 degrees Friday, with overnight lows remaining in the 50s.
Forecast data shows Atlanta reaching 67 degrees Monday, 68 Tuesday, and 69 Wednesday before the late-week surge. Similar readings are expected along Interstate 75 through Macon and along Interstate 85 toward Athens.
Forecasters note that near-daily record highs are possible Thursday and Friday as the warm pattern strengthens. Rain chances remain very low through midweek but will rise slightly heading into the weekend.
Communities along I-75, I-20, and I-85 may experience prolonged spring-like conditions during afternoon commute hours. While no hazardous weather is currently expected, the above-normal warmth is notable for mid-February.
The extended stretch of mild weather may be particularly relevant for students and commuters spending more time outdoors during the afternoon hours.
Residents are encouraged to monitor updates from the National Weather Service Peachtree City office as rain timing becomes clearer later in the week.
