California’s coastline is churning this morning, and waves are building fast along San Diego beaches as showers move inland. Roads remain damp across I-5 and I-8, and winds are beginning to pick up near the water. Conditions will shift quickly through the afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in San Diego, a High Surf Advisory remains in effect until 4 a.m. Wednesday. A Wind Advisory is in place until 8 a.m. Tuesday, with southwest winds 10 to 20 mph and gusts reaching 30 mph. Rain chances climb to 100 percent later today, and periods of heavier rain are possible.

A deep Pacific system continues to push moisture into Southern California. Showers increase through the day, and brief downpours could reduce visibility near coastal communities from La Jolla to Chula Vista. Minor urban flooding is possible in low-lying intersections. Drivers should slow down and allow extra space.

By Tuesday, showers linger with highs near 61 degrees. Breezy conditions continue into Tuesday night. Additional showers develop Wednesday before tapering later in the day. Highs cool into the upper 50s midweek before gradually warming.

Late week brings fewer showers and a modest rebound in temperatures. By Friday and into the weekend, highs return to the low 60s with more sunshine. Looking ahead to President’s Day Week, signs point to a warmer pattern building across Southern California, with above-normal temperatures possible into early next week.
