Jackson, Kentucky – A warming trend will give way to increasing rain chances across eastern Kentucky beginning Wednesday.
According to the US National Weather Service in Jackson, surface high pressure will build into the region Tuesday, bringing dry weather and above-average temperatures. Afternoon highs are expected to reach between 62 and 68 degrees Tuesday, with morning fog possible before skies turn mostly cloudy.
By Wednesday, a series of disturbances will move into the region, increasing the likelihood of rain. High temperatures are forecast between 60 and 67 degrees, with rain chances continuing into Thursday. Thursday could be the warmest day of the week, with highs ranging from 67 to 72 degrees before another round of showers develops.
Rain chances are expected to persist into Friday, when scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms are possible. Highs Friday are projected between 60 and 67 degrees, with overnight lows dipping into the upper 30s to mid-40s later in the week.
Drivers along Interstate 75, KY-15, US-23, and US-460 may encounter wet pavement and brief visibility reductions during periods of heavier rainfall, particularly during morning and evening commute hours.
While no widespread flooding or severe weather has been confirmed, residents are encouraged to monitor updated forecasts as timing and rain coverage may shift through the week.
