Massachusetts commuters are stepping into a raw February morning as temperatures sit at 30 degrees across Boston before sunrise. Pavement remains dry for now, but the cold air keeps sidewalks and shaded bridges primed for slick spots. Logan Airport reports overcast skies with calm winds, setting a quiet stage before a midweek shift.

The National Weather Service says clouds will gradually thin today, allowing partial sunshine and highs near 38 degrees. That modest rebound offers little melt where snowpack lingers. Tonight turns mostly cloudy with lows dropping to 24 degrees, creating another overnight freeze across Suffolk County.

Tuesday brings brighter skies and highs near 40 degrees, but attention quickly turns to Wednesday, February 18. A developing system increases precipitation chances to 80 percent by late day. Rain may mix with snow before colder air takes over Wednesday night. Snow becomes more likely overnight, with temperatures falling to around 30 degrees. Even light accumulation could create slick travel for the Thursday morning commute along I-93, the Mass Pike, and Route 1.

Thursday stays colder with a lingering chance of snow showers early, then partial clearing and highs near 38 degrees. Another weak system may bring additional snow showers late week.

Looking ahead into President’s Day Week, temperatures gradually moderate into the upper 30s to near 40. The 6–10 day outlook favors a slow thaw rather than a deep Arctic blast, but February still holds onto winter across eastern Massachusetts.
