Arizona wakes up to a biting chill across the high country. The air feels sharp at 27 degrees in Flagstaff, with mist hanging low over rooftops and patches of frost clinging to windshields.

Sunshine takes control later today, pushing highs near 51 degrees. Roads dry out quickly under bright skies. Sunday turns even milder, with highs reaching 56 and light southwest winds gusting up to 25 mph. It’s a brief February thaw, and it feels almost like spring at midday.

Changes build fast by Washington’s Birthday. Snow showers develop after 5 p.m., mixing with gusty winds. Highs hover near 50, but temperatures fall quickly after sunset. Plan extra time if traveling along I-40 or I-17 Monday evening.

Monday night brings steadier rain and snow, with precipitation becoming all snow after 1 a.m. Around an inch of accumulation is possible. Winds gust up to 40 mph, reducing visibility at times. Slick spots may form quickly, especially where melting refreezes.

Tuesday stays unsettled. Snow showers remain likely with highs near 40. Gusty southwest winds continue, keeping wind chills in the 20s. Tuesday night drops to 23 degrees with lingering snow chances. Flash freezing becomes a concern as wet pavement hardens.

Midweek keeps snow chances in play before gradual clearing late week. Highs settle in the upper 30s to low 40s through Thursday.

Looking ahead into the 6–10 day outlook, milder air may return across parts of the Southwest, hinting at a broader warming trend. For now, winter isn’t done with northern Arizona.
