La Crosse, WI – Unseasonably warm temperatures will continue across western Wisconsin and southeast Minnesota into early next week, with some areas near I-90 potentially approaching 60 degrees by Monday.

According to the National Weather Service in La Crosse, highs through Tuesday will range from 50 to 55 degrees in areas with little snowpack, primarily south of I-94. Communities along I-90, including La Crosse, Winona and Rochester, could see mid to upper 50s Monday, with a 10 to 20 percent chance of touching 60 degrees in southern locations.

Farther north of I-94, including Eau Claire and Black River Falls, highs are expected in the 40s to near 50 degrees due to lingering snow cover.

Dry weather is forecast to persist through Tuesday during the daytime hours, allowing for continued mild conditions and above-normal February readings. However, the pattern becomes more active Tuesday night into Wednesday.

Forecasters indicate the main snow impacts with the first midweek system should remain north of I-94, though rain or a rain-snow mix may develop across portions of the region. Additional rounds of precipitation are possible later in the week.

Drivers along I-90 and I-94 should remain alert for changing conditions midweek, particularly in northern counties where snow could create slick travel.
