Indianapolis, IN – A 29-year-old man was arrested in Indianapolis in a fatal overdose case.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, Overdose Death Task Force detectives arrested Kameron Tinnin for his alleged role in a September 2025 overdose death on the city’s northwest side.

Officers with IMPD’s North District responded Tuesday, September 30, 2025, to the 8700 block of Old Town West Drive on a report of a death investigation. Police said officers located an adult male unresponsive inside an apartment. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators later determined the death was a suspected fatal overdose.

The case was transferred to the Overdose Death Task Force, which began investigating the source of the drugs. Detectives identified Tinnin as a possible suspect and served a search warrant in November with assistance from the Drug Enforcement Administration, Indiana State Police Criminal Interdiction Section and the Southeast Violent Crimes Task Force.

Authorities said the search resulted in the seizure of approximately one-half ounce of suspected fentanyl, 10 grams of suspected cocaine, 2 pounds of marijuana, several hundred pills, $2,700 in cash, drug dealing paraphernalia and four firearms.

Tinnin was initially arrested on obstruction of justice and drug dealing charges. According to police, additional evidence gathered during the investigation led the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office to issue a warrant Tuesday, February 10, 2026, charging him with dealing in a controlled substance resulting in death. He was taken into custody two days later with assistance from the U.S. Marshals Task Force.

An arrest and a charge are merely accusations, and Tinnin is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.

The case underscores ongoing concerns about fentanyl distribution and its impact on Indianapolis neighborhoods, including young adults and working residents.
