Nebraska–Iowa, Omaha – A frosty 24-degree sunrise grips the Missouri River corridor, but a dramatic February warm-up is already unfolding across the metro.

Sunshine dominates today with highs soaring to 60. Calm winds keep conditions comfortable, and snow piles shrink quickly under bright skies. According to the National Weather Service in Omaha, temperatures fall to around 38 tonight as clouds increase.

That drop sets up a brief refreeze window on untreated roads and bridges, especially along I-80 and I-29. Meltwater can harden after sunset, creating slick patches before sunrise Saturday.

Saturday turns mostly cloudy with a 20% chance of light rain and highs near 57. Skies clear Saturday night with lows around 35. Sunday delivers full February thaw energy, with sunshine pushing highs to 64 and light southwest winds.

President’s Day Monday stays mild at 63 under partly sunny skies. By Tuesday, temperatures surge to 70 with gusty south winds up to 23 mph. That is nearly 20 degrees above average for mid-February.

Midweek brings changes. Rain becomes possible Tuesday night into Wednesday, with highs easing back to the mid-40s by Wednesday. A rain-snow mix cannot be ruled out by Thursday if temperatures hover near the mid-30s, though no accumulation is expected now.

The 6- to 10-day outlook favors above-normal temperatures across the central Plains, signaling continued spring vibes into late next week.
