Pennsylvania – A biting February chill grips Pittsburgh this morning, with temperatures near 21 degrees and wind chills in the teens. Frost clings to rooftops, and untreated side streets remain slick in shaded hills. Drivers along I-376 and I-79 should watch for refreeze where moisture lingers from earlier melt.

According to the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh, highs climb to around 36 degrees today under mostly sunny skies. Winds remain light, becoming west near 6 mph this afternoon. Any limited melting will fade quickly after sunset as temperatures fall to around 27 degrees tonight. That sets the stage for patchy black ice before sunrise.

Saturday brings a noticeable rebound. Highs reach 46 degrees with mostly sunny skies, offering a brief winter thaw. Saturday night turns mostly cloudy with lows near 30 degrees.

By Sunday afternoon, a 30 percent chance of rain develops with highs near 47 degrees. Most precipitation should remain liquid, but colder pockets north of the city could see a brief mix if temperatures hover close to freezing. Plan extra travel time Sunday evening if showers move in.

Washington’s Birthday looks milder and brighter, with highs surging to 51 degrees under mostly sunny skies. Monday night dips to 32 degrees. Tuesday continues the warming trend, reaching 55 degrees with partial sunshine.

Longer-range signals point to above-normal temperatures across western Pennsylvania into midweek, with rain chances increasing by Wednesday. Early spring vibes are building, even as February still delivers chilly mornings.
