Fort Wayne, Indiana – Mostly sunny skies Friday will give way to unseasonably mild temperatures through early next week across northern Indiana and southern Michigan.

According to the National Weather Service in Northern Indiana, patchy early morning clouds will clear, with afternoon highs ranging from the lower 40s across south central Lower Michigan to the lower 50s in west central Indiana. Communities including Fort Wayne, South Bend, Elkhart and Warsaw are expected to see highs between 41 and 52 degrees.

Low temperatures tonight will dip into the mid-20s to lower 30s before warming continues over the weekend. Rain chances increase late Saturday into Sunday, primarily along and south of US-30. Rain probabilities range from 20% to 40% Saturday night, with additional showers possible Sunday across parts of northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio.

By Monday and Tuesday, highs are forecast to reach the upper 40s to upper 50s regionwide, marking a noticeable shift to milder conditions for mid-February.

Drivers along I-69, I-80/90, I-94, US-30 and US-31 should prepare for wet pavement late Saturday night into Sunday, though widespread flooding or hazardous winter weather is not expected.

For students and commuters, Friday and early next week offer favorable travel conditions before weekend rain develops.
