Atlanta has recorded 1.5 inches of snow this season, near normal levels.
According to the National Weather Service Eastern Region, Atlanta, Georgia measured 1.5 inches of snowfall as of 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, compared to a normal 1.3 inches through the same date.
In Macon, 0.8 inches have been recorded this season, while Savannah has measured a trace amount. The regional summary shows much of the Deep South tracking near seasonal averages, with snowfall remaining limited compared to the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast.
The National Weather Service noted measurable snowfall has been observed at each primary reporting location included in the Eastern U.S. update — an uncommon seasonal milestone across the broader region.
While totals in Georgia remain modest, even light snowfall events have led to temporary school schedule changes and travel slowdowns during peak winter weather days.
For commuters and students across metro Atlanta and north Georgia, minor snow events can still create localized road impacts due to limited winter treatment infrastructure.
The snowfall year runs from July 1 through June 30.
