Wilmington has recorded 7.2 inches of snow this season, near normal levels.

According to the National Weather Service Eastern Region, Wilmington, Delaware measured 7.2 inches of snowfall as of 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, compared to a normal 7.5 inches through the same date.

The regional summary shows much of the Mid-Atlantic tracking near to slightly below seasonal averages this winter, in contrast to significantly higher snowfall totals reported across upstate New York and northern New England.

The National Weather Service noted measurable snowfall has been observed at each primary reporting location included in the Eastern U.S. update — an uncommon seasonal benchmark across the broader region.

While Delaware totals remain modest compared to northern states, periodic winter systems have still led to plowing operations and occasional travel slowdowns during peak storm events.

For commuters and students across the state, near-normal snowfall has meant intermittent winter disruptions but fewer prolonged closures.

The snowfall year runs from July 1 through June 30.
