Newark has recorded 12.4 inches of snow this season, near normal levels.

According to the National Weather Service Eastern Region, Newark, New Jersey measured 12.4 inches of snowfall as of 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, compared to a normal 13.1 inches through the same date.

In Atlantic City, 8.7 inches have been recorded this season, slightly below its typical mid-February total. The regional summary shows much of the Mid-Atlantic running near to below seasonal averages, in contrast to heavier snowfall totals reported in upstate New York and northern New England.

The National Weather Service noted measurable snowfall has been observed at each primary reporting location included in the Eastern U.S. update — an uncommon seasonal benchmark across the broader region.

While totals in New Jersey remain modest compared to northern states, periodic winter systems have still led to plowing operations and travel adjustments during peak storm events.

For commuters, students, and transit riders across the state, near-normal snowfall has meant intermittent travel slowdowns but fewer prolonged disruptions.

The snowfall year runs from July 1 through June 30.
