Boston has recorded 17.9 inches of snow this season, near normal levels.
According to the National Weather Service Eastern Region, Boston, Massachusetts measured 17.9 inches of snowfall as of 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, compared to a normal 18.8 inches through the same date.
Elsewhere in Massachusetts, Worcester has recorded 43.6 inches this season, while Springfield has measured 29.4 inches. Both cities are tracking close to typical mid-February snowfall totals, based on the regional summary.
The National Weather Service noted measurable snowfall has been observed at each primary reporting site included in the Eastern U.S. update — an uncommon seasonal milestone across the broader region.
While parts of upstate New York and northern New England are running well above normal this winter, Massachusetts totals have generally remained near seasonal averages through mid-February.
For commuters, students, and municipal crews across the state, steady but near-normal snowfall has meant periodic plowing operations and winter travel adjustments throughout the season.
The snowfall year runs from July 1 through June 30.
