Fond du Lac, Wisconsin – A 34-mile pursuit ended in arrests and drug seizures Wednesday evening.
According to Captain Chris Randall of the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and the Fond du Lac Police Department were attempting to locate a fugitive with multiple felony warrants on Tuesday, February 11.
During the operation, the fugitive allegedly entered a vehicle within the City of Fond du Lac. Deputies attempted a traffic stop near Interstate 41 and County Highway Y. The vehicle initially slowed before allegedly fleeing at a high rate of speed.
Authorities said the pursuit continued approximately 34 miles. Dodge County and Washington County sheriff’s offices deployed tire deflation devices twice. The chase ended near Interstate 41 and Highway 60 in Washington County.
A high-risk traffic stop was conducted, and both occupants were taken into custody without reported injuries. Officials said a firearm was located on the ground outside the vehicle following the arrests. Ammunition was recovered inside the vehicle.
Investigators later reported seizing an additional firearm, nearly one-half pound of crack cocaine, and more than four ounces of fentanyl during continued joint investigation efforts.
The driver, who was reportedly under active supervision with the Wisconsin Department of Corrections, was booked into the Fond du Lac County Jail on additional felony charges. The passenger, identified as the fugitive, was also jailed on multiple felony charges, including three counts of felony bail jumping.
No injuries were reported. Two vehicles sustained punctured tires due to deflation devices.
The investigation remains ongoing.
