Dorchester County, S.C. – A 42-year-old man was arrested after a pursuit ended in a crash in Dorchester County.
According to the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 9:03 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2026, to the 200 block of Catherines Court in reference to an intoxicated person.
Upon arrival, deputies observed an individual later identified as Anthony Theron Clark, 42, of Charleston, sitting in a red Cadillac DTS parked in a driveway. Authorities said that as deputies exited their patrol vehicles and attempted to make contact, Clark allegedly drove away at a high rate of speed toward Orangeburg Road.
A vehicle pursuit followed, during which deputies activated emergency lights and sirens. Officials said Clark allegedly struck a neighborhood sign before coming to a stop in the front yard of a residence in the 100 block of Catherines Court.
Deputies conducted a felony traffic stop and took Clark into custody without further incident after issuing verbal commands at gunpoint, according to the sheriff’s office.
Clark has been charged with Failure to Stop for Blue Lights, Driving Under Suspension (Second Offense), Transporting Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle with the Seal Broken, and Using License Plates Other Than Those Issued for the Vehicle.
He remains in custody at the L.C. Knight Detention Center.
The incident temporarily disrupted the residential area and may affect insurance and court proceedings for those involved.
