Cleveland, Ohio – Lake-enhanced snow showers may bring up to 1 inch of accumulation along I-90 in northeast Ohio today.
According to the US National Weather Service in Cleveland, temperatures will remain slightly below normal for mid-February, with highs ranging from the mid-20s to lower 30s across northern Ohio and northwest Pennsylvania. Light lake-enhanced snow will continue across the snowbelt through the day before ending this evening.
Additional snowfall totals are expected to remain under 1 inch, with the greatest accumulations confined mainly to higher elevations of northwest Pennsylvania and far northeast Ohio. Areas farther west, including Toledo and Findlay, are expected to see drier conditions with intervals of sunshine.
Motorists traveling along I-90 from Cleveland to Ashtabula and into Erie, as well as along I-80 near Youngstown and US-20 across the lakeshore counties, may encounter brief reductions in visibility and light snow-covered roadways during heavier snow showers.
Temperatures will drop into the teens overnight Thursday, with lows generally ranging from 11 to 18 degrees across the region. Any lingering snow showers are expected to end tonight as drier air moves in.
Drivers, including morning and evening commuters, should remain alert for isolated slick spots in areas where snow showers persist through the afternoon.
