St. Louis, Missouri – Rain chances up to 80% Saturday could impact travel and outdoor plans across the St. Louis region.

According to the US National Weather Service in St. Louis, warming temperatures will continue through the end of the week before rain moves into the area Saturday. Forecasters say the best chance for measurable rainfall — between 50% and 80% — will occur along and south of Interstate 70, including areas near I-44 and I-55.

Communities north of I-70 face lower rain probabilities, generally between 30% and 50%, with some locations potentially receiving little precipitation.

High temperatures are expected to reach the low to mid-50s Saturday, with overnight lows dipping into the 30s and 40s. Rain may continue into Sunday, primarily affecting areas south of I-70 before gradually exiting the region.

The weather service notes that rainfall could affect outdoor weekend events, particularly across central and southern portions of the metro area. Drivers along I-70, I-44 and I-55 should prepare for wet pavement and reduced visibility at times Saturday.

Conditions are expected to dry out early next week, with another warming trend forecast.

Commuters, delivery drivers and students traveling across major interstates Saturday should monitor updated forecasts before heading out.
