Corpus Christi, TX – Breezy winds, above-normal heat, and changing road conditions are expected across the Coastal Bend through the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi, high temperatures today will reach the mid-70s to low 80s, with southeast winds gusting up to 30 mph, especially near the coast and along major travel corridors such as Interstate 37, US-77, and I-69E. These gusty conditions may affect high-profile vehicles and east–west roadways during the afternoon hours.

Cloud cover will increase tonight, with overnight lows in the upper 50s to mid-60s. The National Weather Service reports patchy fog developing late tonight into early Wednesday, which could reduce visibility on rural highways and coastal routes, including SH-35 and FM roadways north of Corpus Christi.

On Wednesday, a 20% chance of light rain is expected, mainly across northern portions of the Coastal Bend, including areas near Victoria Crossroads. Rain chances remain low to medium through midweek, with skies turning partly cloudy Thursday and Friday.

Temperatures will climb late in the week, with Friday highs reaching 90 degrees in some inland communities such as Alice, Freer, and Tilden. Coastal locations will remain slightly cooler due to onshore flow.

By Saturday, a passing boundary may bring isolated showers and thunderstorms, with rain chances increasing to around 60%. Any storms could briefly impact travel along US-59 and regional connectors, though widespread severe weather is not indicated at this time.

Beachgoers should note a low risk of rip currents, but breezy conditions may persist.

Commuters, students, and outdoor workers are advised to monitor changing conditions, especially during early morning fog and afternoon wind peaks.
