According to the National Weather Service in Louisville, fog development is possible late tonight through Tuesday morning, with the greatest risk occurring around daybreak. The fog potential is highest in low-lying areas and river valleys, where visibility could be reduced for a time during the morning commute.
Overnight temperatures are expected to remain relatively mild, ranging from upper 20s to low 30s across southern Indiana and northern Kentucky, and mid-30s to near 40 degrees across southern Kentucky. These conditions, combined with lingering moisture, may allow patchy fog to form before sunrise.
On Tuesday, temperatures will continue a warming trend, climbing into the upper 50s to low 60s across southern Indiana and northern Kentucky, with mid-60s possible across southern Kentucky. While much of the day will remain dry, light rain chances increase later Tuesday afternoon into Tuesday night, particularly during the evening hours.
Major roadways including Interstate 64, Interstate 65, Interstate 71, Interstate 265, and the Bluegrass Parkway could be affected by reduced visibility from fog early Tuesday, followed by wet road conditions later in the day as rain moves in. While no winter weather is expected, slick spots are possible where fog and drizzle develop.
The National Weather Service notes that rainfall amounts are expected to remain light, with no flooding concerns at this time. Conditions improve by Wednesday, with cooler temperatures returning but skies becoming partly sunny.
