Minneapolis, Minnesota – Temperatures are trending upward across the Twin Cities today and Monday, bringing a stretch of mild February weather to the region, according to the National Weather Service Twin Cities.
The National Weather Service reported that highs today are expected to range from around 30 to the low 40s across Minneapolis, St. Paul, and surrounding suburbs. Overnight lows will remain relatively mild for early February, generally in the 20s.
Warmer air continues to move into the region Monday, with high temperatures forecast to range from the upper 30s to near 50 degrees, particularly across southern and southwestern portions of Minnesota. A chance for rain or a rain-snow mix was noted for central Minnesota, though widespread impacts were not indicated.
By Tuesday and Wednesday, temperatures are expected to remain above seasonal averages, with daytime highs generally ranging from the low 30s to mid-40s. Breezy conditions may develop Tuesday, especially across open areas and along major travel corridors.
Motorists traveling along Interstate 94, Interstate 35, Interstate 494, and other major Twin Cities roadways should encounter mostly favorable driving conditions through the early part of the week, with dry pavement expected in most areas. Any brief precipitation Monday is not expected to cause significant travel disruptions.
According to the weather service, the warmest conditions are expected in southwestern Minnesota, while slightly cooler temperatures persist farther north and east.
For commuters, students, and outdoor workers, the milder temperatures may ease winter-related challenges, though fluctuating temperatures could still create localized slick spots during overnight hours.
The National Weather Service emphasized that this mild pattern is temporary, and residents should continue to monitor updated forecasts for changes later in the week.
