St. Louis, Missouri — A multi-day warming trend is underway across Missouri, pushing afternoon temperatures well above recent norms through Tuesday.

According to the National Weather Service in St. Louis, temperatures will steadily climb beginning Sunday and continue warming into early next week. Highs Sunday are forecast to range from 40 to 62 degrees, followed by 50 to 67 degrees Monday, and peaking between 53 and 68 degrees Tuesday. The warmest conditions are expected in central and southeast Missouri, though all areas will see noticeable improvement.

Forecasters said the warming trend is driven by a shift in the upper-level pattern allowing milder air to move northward into the Midwest. Overnight lows will remain cool, with 30s to low 40s Sunday morning and 20s to 30s Monday morning, but afternoons will feel increasingly springlike.

In the St. Louis metro area, including corridors along Interstate 64 and Interstate 70, commuters can expect dry road conditions and mild afternoons, favorable for outdoor travel and work. Similar conditions are expected along I-55 through southeast Missouri, where temperatures may reach the upper end of the forecast range.

The extended stretch of mild weather offers a break from winter cold, though officials caution that large daily temperature swings can still create patchy frost during the early morning hours, particularly in rural areas.

No precipitation or hazardous weather is expected during the warming period, making conditions favorable for outdoor activities, construction work, and travel across the region.

The warming trend is especially relevant for students, commuters, and outdoor workers, as lighter winter gear will be sufficient during the afternoon hours.

Residents are encouraged to take advantage of the milder weather while remaining aware of cooler mornings.
