Ohio – Cold air grips the Ohio River Valley this morning as breath fogs the air and frost clings to parked cars across Cincinnati. Temperatures hover near 13 degrees, while northwest winds push wind chills close to 10 degrees below zero, making even short trips outside uncomfortable.

According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, a Cold Weather Advisory remains in effect through midday. The advisory covers much of southern Ohio, including Hamilton, Butler, and Clermont counties. Prolonged exposure to the cold can lead to hypothermia without proper protection. Residents are urged to dress in layers and limit time outdoors this morning.

Skies stay sunny today, but the cold lingers. Highs reach only the lower 20s, keeping sidewalks and untreated roads stiff. Drivers on I-71, I-75, and city bridges should watch for slick patches, especially where moisture refroze overnight. Conditions improve slightly this afternoon as winds ease, though temperatures remain well below normal.

Clouds increase tonight as lows dip near 9 degrees. Attention then shifts to Sunday. A weak system brings a chance for light snow during the morning and midday hours. Accumulations stay under a half inch, but brief bursts could reduce visibility and create slick travel on secondary roads. Allow extra time if traveling Sunday.

Relief arrives early next week. Monday turns partly sunny with highs near 41 degrees, signaling a notable February thaw. Tuesday feels almost springlike as temperatures climb into the mid-50s under mostly sunny skies. Snow piles shrink quickly, and daily travel improves across the metro.

Midweek brings more clouds and a return of rain chances by Tuesday night and Wednesday. Even so, temperatures remain well above freezing. Looking into the six- to ten-day window, above-normal temperatures are favored across the Ohio Valley, suggesting winter’s harshest cold loosens its grip.
