Davenport, Iowa – A noticeable warming trend is expected to develop across the Quad Cities region beginning Sunday, with temperatures climbing above normal into early next week.

According to the U.S. National Weather Service Quad Cities office, milder weather will settle in Sunday and persist through at least midweek. Forecast data shows temperatures rising steadily, with the most pronounced warming expected Monday and Tuesday.

Daytime highs are forecast to climb into the 40s and 50s across eastern Iowa and western Illinois, exceeding typical early February averages. Overnight lows are also expected to trend warmer, reducing the intensity of recent cold mornings. The warming pattern is expected to remain mainly dry through early next week.

Communities along major transportation corridors such as Interstate 80, Interstate 74, Interstate 280, U.S. Highway 34, and U.S. Highway 61 will experience similar conditions. The milder temperatures should support improved travel conditions and fewer cold-related impacts for commuters.

The National Weather Service notes that warmer-than-average temperatures may persist through next weekend, based on longer-range outlooks. While dry weather dominates the near-term forecast, precipitation chances are expected to increase later next week and into the following weekend.

For students, workers, and outdoor enthusiasts, the milder conditions offer an opportunity for extended outdoor activity after a colder stretch. However, officials advise residents to remain aware of changing forecasts as the pattern evolves.

The 6–10 day temperature outlook favors above-normal temperatures across much of the central United States, including the Quad Cities region. This pattern supports continued moderation following recent cold conditions.

Residents are encouraged to monitor updated forecasts from the National Weather Service as timing details become clearer, particularly regarding the potential return of precipitation later next week.
