Austin, Texas – Warm and generally quiet weather conditions are expected across the Austin area today, with temperatures climbing into the upper 70s and lower 80s.

According to the U.S. National Weather Service Austin–San Antonio, skies will remain sunny through much of the morning before clouds begin to increase this afternoon, particularly along the Rio Grande. High temperatures across the region are forecast to range from the upper 70s to the lower 80s, making for unseasonably warm conditions for early February.

Light and variable winds are expected during the morning hours, shifting to a southerly direction later today. Travel conditions along major roadways such as Interstate 35, U.S. Highway 290, and Loop 1 are expected to remain dry and favorable throughout the day.

Forecasters say the warm pattern will continue into Sunday and through much of the upcoming week. While no hazardous weather is anticipated in the short term, rain chances return to the forecast beginning Tuesday, with additional chances Friday and next Saturday. No significant rainfall amounts have been indicated at this time.

Overnight lows will remain mild, generally in the upper 40s to mid-50s across the Austin metro area. The combination of warm afternoons and cooler nights may lead to patchy morning fog in low-lying areas later in the week, though this is not currently expected today.

The warm and stable conditions may benefit outdoor plans, events, and weekend travel, especially for commuters and service workers spending time along exposed roadways during the afternoon hours.

Residents are encouraged to stay updated with official National Weather Service forecasts as rain chances return later in the week and cloud cover increases along southern portions of the region.
