Little Rock, Arkansas — Arkansas residents will experience a cool start followed by a noticeably warmer and dry weekend, according to the National Weather Service in Little Rock. Overnight temperatures Friday night into Saturday morning will dip into the upper 20s and 30s across much of the state, marking a chilly but brief return to winter-like conditions.

Northern and central locations, including Fayetteville, Harrison, Mountain View, and Jonesboro, are expected to see morning lows between 26°F and 32°F, while central and southern areas such as Little Rock, Hot Springs, Pine Bluff, and El Dorado fall into the mid-30s to near 40°F. Drivers along major corridors like Interstate 40, I-30, I-49, and I-55 should be aware of cold early-morning conditions, though no widespread hazardous travel is anticipated.

By Saturday afternoon, temperatures rebound quickly under sunny skies. Highs will climb into the upper 40s and 50s statewide, with western and southern Arkansas warming into the upper 50s to low 60s. Cities such as Fort Smith, Texarkana, De Queen, and Prescott may reach 60–62°F, making for pleasant outdoor conditions.

The warming trend continues into Sunday and early next week, with above-normal temperatures expected to persist. Dry weather dominates through the weekend, allowing for favorable travel and outdoor plans. However, forecasters note that an unsettled pattern may return by mid to late next week, bringing increasing rain chances as early as Tuesday, potentially continuing through the end of the week.

Residents are encouraged to dress in layers during the cool mornings, then prepare for spring-like afternoons. While no immediate weather hazards are expected, staying updated is advised as conditions change heading into next week.
