PUEBLO, Colo. — Warm and dry weather conditions will continue across southern Colorado through the weekend and into early next week, according to the National Weather Service in Pueblo. Temperatures across the region are expected to remain well above normal for early February, especially along the Interstate 25 corridor and US-50, impacting travel, outdoor plans, and fire weather awareness.

Friday’s high temperatures are forecast to reach the upper 50s to lower 70s across much of the lower elevations. Pueblo is expected to see highs in the upper 60s, while communities farther south and east could climb even higher. These mild conditions will persist through Saturday and Sunday, with only minor day-to-day fluctuations.

The warm pattern is being driven by persistent dry air and a lack of strong cold fronts across the region. While this will make for pleasant daytime conditions, dry fuels and breezy periods may elevate localized fire weather concerns, particularly during the afternoon hours. Motorists traveling along I-25, US-50, and Highway 287 should remain mindful of changing wind conditions, especially for high-profile vehicles.

By early next week, slightly cooler temperatures are expected to return to the high country, but lower elevations will remain seasonably mild through at least the middle of the week. Overnight lows will stay mostly above freezing in many locations, reducing the risk of icy roadways but increasing evaporation and drying of soils.

Residents are encouraged to enjoy the extended stretch of mild weather while remaining cautious with outdoor burning and fire-producing activities. While February often brings sudden shifts toward winter conditions, no significant cold snaps or winter storms are currently expected in southern Colorado over the next several days.

Stay tuned to the National Weather Service for updates as conditions evolve.
