Tampa, Fla. — Sunshine and mild temperatures settle across the Tampa Bay region Friday, creating ideal travel conditions along I-275, I-75, and U.S. 19 as highs climb into the 60s and lower 70s by afternoon.

The National Weather Service in Tampa Bay said a cool start to the day gives way to abundant sunshine and light winds, allowing temperatures to recover quickly after morning lows in the 40s and 50s. Roads remain dry throughout the region, with no weather-related travel impacts expected.

Drivers along I-275 through Tampa and St. Petersburg, I-75 near Brandon and Riverview, and U.S. 19 from Clearwater south toward Port Richey encounter clear skies and excellent visibility during the Friday commute. Similar conditions extend east along I-4 toward Lakeland and west along coastal routes.

Communities benefiting from the pleasant weather include Tampa, St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Brandon, Lakeland, Sarasota, Bradenton, and New Port Richey. With humidity remaining low, the mild temperatures feel especially comfortable for outdoor activities and travel.

Saturday turns slightly warmer, with highs pushing into the mid 60s to mid 70s across much of west-central and southwest Florida. Overnight lows remain cool but not cold, generally falling into the 40s and lower 50s.

Sunday continues the warming trend as daytime highs reach the upper 60s and mid 70s under continued sunshine. By early next week, temperatures climb further, with highs reaching the mid to upper 70s and even near 80 degrees by Tuesday along inland corridors.

Rain chances remain near zero through most of the upcoming week, keeping roadways dry and travel conditions favorable. Forecasters noted that the next meaningful rain opportunity does not arrive until late Monday night into Tuesday, followed by a return to dry and warm conditions.

Overall, the stretch of sunny, mild weather provides one of the most stable and travel-friendly periods so far this season across the Tampa Bay commuter corridor.
