Monroe County, Wisconsin – A Birchwood man was arrested again this week on multiple drug-related charges after a traffic stop led to the discovery of nearly 50 grams of methamphetamine, authorities said.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrested Travis R. Towne, of Birchwood, on February 4, following a contact at Crossing Casino that resulted in a bond violation and subsequent search.

Investigators allege Towne was in possession of 10 grams of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, resisting an officer, possession of drug paraphernalia, and 26 counts of felony bail jumping. Authorities said the methamphetamine was concealed on his person.

The sheriff’s office said Towne resisted when a sergeant attempted to locate the drugs. A search later revealed eight separate baggies containing methamphetamine, totaling nearly 50 grams.

Officials noted Towne has been arrested multiple times over the past two years in connection with narcotics investigations conducted by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, including alleged involvement in the distribution of methamphetamine.

Most recently, Towne was released on a signature bond on October 27, 2025, to participate in a drug rehabilitation treatment program, authorities said.

Towne is scheduled to appear in Monroe County Circuit Court on Thursday, February 5, at 1 p.m., for a bond hearing. The hearing may be viewed online through the Monroe County Clerk of Courts website.

The case remains under investigation. All charges are allegations, and Towne is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

This arrest may impact area employers and commuters near Crossing Casino during ongoing enforcement activity.
