Las Vegas, Nevada – A more active February weather pattern is expected to take hold across Nevada through late week, bringing above-normal chances for rain and snow statewide. The shift signals a break from quieter conditions and raises the potential for travel impacts, especially in higher elevations and mountain corridors.

According to the National Weather Service Climate Prediction Center, the 6–10 day outlook from February 10–14 favors above-normal precipitation across much of Nevada. Storm systems tracking through the Great Basin are expected to increase the likelihood of valley rain and accumulating mountain snow, while temperatures remain supportive of winter weather in elevated terrain.

In southern Nevada, including Las Vegas and the Interstate 15 corridor, rain chances are expected to increase, with slick roads possible during periods of heavier showers. Northern and central Nevada face a higher risk for snow, particularly across the Sierra Nevada, Ruby Mountains, and higher terrain near Elko and Ely. Travel along Interstate 80, U.S. Route 50, and mountain passes could be affected during active periods.

Residents and travelers should remain alert for rapidly changing conditions, including reduced visibility and snow-covered roads in higher elevations. Drivers are encouraged to check road conditions before heading out and allow extra time for travel.

This wetter pattern is expected to persist through late week, and additional winter weather advisories or alerts may be issued as individual systems approach.
