Wichita, Kansas – Patchy morning fog is possible today across parts of central and south-central Kansas, followed by a stretch of dry weather and steadily warming temperatures through early next week.
According to a Facebook update from the National Weather Service office in Wichita, despite some early fog this morning, dry conditions and above-average temperatures are expected to dominate the region through at least Monday. Afternoon highs today are forecast to reach the upper 50s to mid-60s, with additional warming each day.
The fog threat is expected to be brief and mainly confined to the morning hours, potentially affecting visibility along major routes such as Interstate 35, Interstate 135, U.S. 54, U.S. 400, and Kellogg Avenue. Conditions are expected to improve quickly after sunrise.
By Friday, highs are expected to climb into the upper 50s and low 60s, followed by mid to upper 60s over the weekend. The warmest temperatures are forecast Monday, when highs may reach the upper 60s to low 70s across parts of south-central Kansas.
Overnight lows will remain cool but moderate, ranging from the upper 20s to upper 30s through the period. The National Weather Service noted that the combination of dry air, light winds, and warmer temperatures will result in generally quiet weather conditions.
While no travel hazards are expected beyond early fog today, commuters may notice cooler mornings followed by much milder afternoons. Students, outdoor workers, and those with changing schedules may benefit from layered clothing.
No rain is expected through the weekend, and no watches, warnings, or advisories were in effect at the time of the update. Forecast confidence is high that the warm and dry pattern will persist into the start of next week.
Residents are encouraged to monitor local forecasts for updates as temperatures continue trending upward.
