Little Rock, Arkansas — Cooler air behind a recent cold front will be felt across Arkansas today and Thursday, but a warming trend is expected to close out the week, bringing milder and dry conditions into the weekend, according to the National Weather Service in Little Rock.
Forecasters say upper northwest flow will remain in place across the eastern half of the United States through Friday, keeping temperatures near seasonal averages for the middle of the week. Highs Wednesday will range from the upper 30s to lower 40s across northern Arkansas, while central and southern areas warm into the mid-40s to lower 50s. Cities including Little Rock, Russellville, Searcy, and Pine Bluff will see highs mainly in the mid to upper 40s.
By Thursday and Friday, warmer air will gradually return as winds shift, allowing highs to climb into the 50s and even near 60 degrees in parts of southern Arkansas. Travel corridors such as Interstate 30, Interstate 40, Interstate 55, and U.S. Highway 67 will experience dry road conditions with no precipitation expected.
The National Weather Service notes that dry weather is forecast for at least the next five days, making this an extended stretch without rain across the state. Skies will remain partly to mostly cloudy at times, but no significant weather impacts are anticipated.
Overnight lows will remain cool, especially in northern valleys where temperatures may dip into the mid-20s to low 30s early in the period. However, overnight temperatures will also trend upward heading into the weekend.
Communities across central and southern Arkansas, including Hot Springs, Texarkana, El Dorado, and Monticello, will notice the most pronounced warming by Friday and Saturday. This pattern favors pleasant outdoor conditions, especially during the afternoon hours.
For commuters, students, and outdoor workers, the main takeaway is a brief cool-down midweek followed by steadily improving temperatures and quiet weather through the weekend. Rain chances may return early next week as the weather pattern becomes more unsettled.
