Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – A shift back toward more typical February conditions is expected across Pennsylvania beginning Tuesday, February 10, as the 8–14-day outlook signals increasing precipitation and temperatures settling near seasonal norms through Monday, February 16. The developing pattern brings renewed snow potential statewide as colder air becomes more established.

According to the National Weather Service Climate Prediction Center, above-average precipitation is favored across much of the mid-Atlantic and Northeast during the February 10–16 period, including Pennsylvania. Temperatures are projected to hover close to mid-February averages, keeping many areas near the freezing mark while above-average warmth remains centered across the central United States.

This setup supports multiple chances for snow rather than one prolonged storm. Northern and western Pennsylvania, including the Allegheny Plateau, Laurel Highlands, and areas north of Interstate 80, are more likely to see accumulating snowfall. Central Pennsylvania, including State College and Altoona, could also see periodic snow, especially during overnight hours.

In eastern Pennsylvania, including Philadelphia, Allentown, and the Lehigh Valley, snow remains possible during the outlook window, particularly during nighttime and early morning periods when colder air is more likely to hold. Precipitation type could vary at times, but snow chances increase as temperatures trend closer to freezing.

Road conditions may deteriorate quickly during this period, with slick travel and refreezing possible during commutes. PennDOT crews may need to treat roadways repeatedly if snow arrives in waves rather than one continuous event.

Residents are advised to monitor updates, plan for winter driving conditions, and keep emergency supplies readily available. With the colder, wetter pattern expected to persist through Monday, February 16, additional advisories or snow-related alerts may be issued as confidence increases heading into next week.
