Aurora, IL – A Kane County jury has found a Waukegan man guilty in a long-running child sexual assault case stemming from incidents that occurred in Aurora in 2006.

According to the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office, Glenn Wilson was convicted of four counts of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child, a Class X felony, and four counts of Criminal Sexual Assault, a Class 1 felony, following a jury trial concluded this week.

Prosecutors said Wilson was the stepfather of the victim and lived in the Aurora home where the abuse allegedly occurred. Authorities stated that Wilson used his position of trust and access to repeatedly sexually assault the child inside the residence. The abuse was not reported until years later.

Assistant State’s Attorneys Matthew Rodgers and Jacqueline Kliment presented the case on behalf of the state. Following the guilty verdicts, Judge Bianca Camargo ordered Wilson taken into custody at the Kane County Jail.

Wilson is scheduled to return to court on April 9, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. in Courtroom 311 at the Kane County Judicial Center for post-trial motions and sentencing. Due to the mandatory consecutive sentencing requirements tied to the convictions, prosecutors said Wilson faces a minimum sentence of 40 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

Officials confirmed Wilson is not eligible for probation. If ever released, he would be required to register for life under the Illinois Sex Offender Registration Act.

In a statement, ASA Rodgers praised the victim’s courage, saying her “quiet determination that the truth come out all these years later serves as an inspiration.” He also credited Aurora Police Detective Shane Leadbetter for his work on the investigation.

The case highlights the long-term impact of child sexual abuse and the legal system’s ability to pursue accountability years after the alleged crimes occurred.
