Davenport, Iowa – Quiet weather conditions are expected across the Quad Cities region this week, with temperatures gradually trending above normal by late week.

According to the National Weather Service Quad Cities, the first week of February will begin calmly, with mainly dry conditions and a steady warming trend. High temperatures early in the week will generally range from the low 20s to low 30s, keeping conditions seasonable for early February.

A slight chance of patchy light snow or flurries is possible tonight into Tuesday, though forecasters note that accumulation is not expected. Any snow that does occur would be brief and limited, with little impact to travel.

By Wednesday, temperatures will continue to moderate, with highs reaching the mid-20s to low 30s. The warming trend becomes more noticeable Thursday and Friday, when much of the region is expected to see high temperatures climbing into the 30s and even low 40s, allowing many locations to rise above freezing during the daytime.

The National Weather Service notes that the coldest conditions will remain closer to the Highway 20 corridor, while warmer temperatures are expected south of Interstate 80 as the week progresses. Overnight lows will still dip into the teens and 20s at times, but the overall trend favors milder afternoons.

Major travel routes including Interstate 80, Interstate 74, US-67, and US-30 are expected to see generally favorable driving conditions, especially later in the week as temperatures rise and dry weather persists.

Commuters, students, and outdoor workers may notice easier travel conditions and more comfortable afternoons as the warming trend develops. While winter conditions are not completely gone, no significant weather hazards are anticipated this week.

Residents are encouraged to enjoy the quieter stretch of weather while continuing to monitor forecasts for any changes as February progresses.
