Cincinnati, Ohio – Several rounds of snow this week are expected to affect travel across southwest Ohio, with accumulating snowfall most likely Tuesday night south of Interstate 70.

According to the National Weather Service Wilmington, snow is expected today, Tuesday, and again Friday into Friday night. Snowfall today is forecast to remain light, with totals generally under one-half inch, limiting impacts for most areas.

The primary snowfall event is expected Tuesday into Tuesday evening, when 2 to 3 inches of accumulating snow will be possible, especially south of I-70, including areas near Interstates 71 and 75. The NWS notes that this period carries the highest confidence for measurable accumulation this week.

Additional snow showers are expected Friday into Friday night, though amounts were not specified in the update. Forecasters caution that cold temperatures will persist, meaning even lighter snowfall could result in slick or icy road conditions, particularly during overnight and early morning hours.

A separate temperature outlook from the National Weather Service indicates that while conditions will be slightly warmer than last week, temperatures are expected to remain below normal, with most days staying below freezing. These colder conditions increase the likelihood that snow will accumulate and linger on untreated surfaces.

Drivers using I-71, I-75, and connecting state routes should plan for slower travel times, especially during Tuesday evening and Friday night commutes. Young workers, students, and overnight commuters may see the greatest impact due to timing and reduced road temperatures.

Residents are encouraged to monitor updated forecasts and road conditions as snowfall timing and totals may shift slightly with each system.
