New Hampshire – The cold feels sharp enough to rattle breath this morning as frost coats windshields and snow squeaks under boots. Temperatures sit in the low teens, and wind chills dip below zero, making even short trips outside uncomfortable. Winter has settled in firmly, and it is not done yet.

According to the National Weather Service, bitter cold continues across southern New Hampshire early today, with wind chills as low as 5 below. Northwest winds keep the air feeling raw, even under sunny skies. Conditions improve only slightly through the afternoon as highs struggle toward the upper 20s.

Across the Granite State, this cold ties back to a locked-in arctic pattern fueled by ice-covered Great Lakes. With nearly half the lakes frozen, cold air holds longer and nights cool quickly. That setup raises concerns for refreezing wherever snow melts during daylight hours.

In Manchester, clear skies tonight allow temperatures to fall below zero. Any moisture on roads or sidewalks will freeze solid, especially on bridges and untreated side streets. Drivers should use caution on I-293, Route 101, and neighborhood roads early Tuesday.

By Tuesday and Wednesday, sunshine dominates, but temperatures remain below normal, topping out near 30. Calm winds help slightly, though shaded areas stay icy. Another cold night arrives Wednesday, followed by a modest warm-up late week.

Attention then turns toward Friday and the weekend. Clouds increase, and a system may bring light snow Friday night into Saturday. Amounts remain uncertain, but even minor snow could create slick travel given cold ground temperatures. Plan ahead if traveling into the Feb 6–8 weekend.

For now, layer up, protect pets, and limit time outdoors this morning. Winter still calls the shots. How cold did it feel where you are today?
