Denver, Colorado – A noticeable late-winter warm-up is setting up across Utah and Colorado, bringing a break from recent cold and a quieter stretch of weather for much of the central Rockies. Temperatures are expected to trend above seasonal averages, improving travel conditions along major corridors and offering some relief from harsh winter conditions.

According to the National Weather Service Climate Prediction Center, the Feb. 9–15 outlook favors above-normal temperatures across much of the Intermountain West and central Rockies. Both Utah and Colorado fall within a strong warm signal, pointing to several days of milder-than-average conditions, especially at lower elevations.

Along the Wasatch Front, including Salt Lake City, Ogden, and Provo, daytime highs are expected to climb into the 40s and low 50s, helping melt valley snow and reduce daytime ice concerns. Northern and central Utah valleys should see similar moderation, while higher terrain remains seasonably cold.

Across Colorado, including Denver, Colorado Springs, and Pueblo, afternoon temperatures are expected to reach the 40s and 50s, easing travel impacts along Interstates 25 and 70. Mountain communities will still see winter conditions, but extreme cold looks less likely during this stretch.

The warming trend comes with a drier pattern. No major snow systems are evident, allowing highways to remain quieter but limiting fresh mountain snowfall.

Overnight refreezing remains possible in valleys and mountain towns. Additional outlooks will determine whether the milder pattern holds or if colder, more active weather returns later in February.
