Cleveland, Ohio – A noticeable late-winter warm-up is taking shape across eastern Ohio, bringing a stretch of above-normal temperatures that should ease travel concerns and deliver a brief taste of early spring. The shift marks a clear departure from recent colder conditions and sets up a quieter weather pattern for much of the region.

According to the National Weather Service Climate Prediction Center, the Feb. 9–15 outlook favors above-normal temperatures across eastern Ohio, including Northeast Ohio and the Ohio Valley. Confidence is strongest across the Midwest and Great Lakes, placing the region firmly within a warmer-than-average pattern through mid-February.

In Northeast Ohio, including Cleveland, Akron, and Canton, daytime highs are expected to climb into the upper 30s and 40s, reducing daytime ice concerns and improving road conditions. Farther east, including Youngstown and areas along the Pennsylvania border, temperatures also trend milder, helping limit lake-enhanced snow potential.

Southeast Ohio, including Steubenville and the Upper Ohio Valley, may see the most consistent warming, with several afternoons feeling noticeably milder than typical February standards.

Despite the temperature rebound, the pattern remains dry. No organized snow or rain systems are evident during this stretch, keeping travel disruptions minimal but limiting additional moisture.

Colder nights may still allow patchy refreezing on untreated surfaces. Additional outlooks will determine whether the mild pattern holds deeper into February or if colder air returns later in the month.
