Atlanta, Georgia – A broad late-winter warm-up is setting up across Georgia, pushing temperatures well above seasonal averages and delivering a stretch that may feel more like early spring than February. The milder pattern is expected to improve travel, support outdoor activity, and ease heating demand statewide.

According to the National Weather Service Climate Prediction Center, the Feb. 9–15 outlook favors above-normal temperatures across nearly all of Georgia. The strongest signal covers central and northern portions of the state, placing Georgia solidly within a warmer-than-average pattern through the middle of the month.

In north and central Georgia, including Atlanta, Athens, and Marietta, afternoon highs are expected to climb into the 50s and 60s, limiting any cold-weather travel issues and providing comfortable daytime conditions. North Georgia mountain communities warm more gradually but still trend milder than typical February levels.

South Georgia, including Macon, Valdosta, and Albany, may see the most noticeable warmth, with extended stretches of springlike afternoons and mild evenings.

Despite the warming trend, the pattern remains dry. No organized rain systems are evident during this period, reducing flood concerns but also limiting soil moisture and river recharge.

While cooler nights will still bring a chill, the overall signal points to a calm and mild stretch. Additional outlooks will clarify whether the warmth holds as February moves forward or if cooler air returns later in the month.
