St. Louis, Missouri – Missouri is heading into a noticeable February warm-up as temperatures climb above seasonal averages, bringing a quieter and more comfortable stretch after recent winter cold. The milder pattern is expected to improve travel conditions statewide while slowly melting lingering snow and ice.

According to the National Weather Service Climate Prediction Center, the Feb. 9–15 outlook favors above-normal temperatures across nearly all of Missouri. The strongest signal is focused across central and eastern sections of the state, placing much of Missouri in a likely-above-normal category through mid-February.

In eastern Missouri, including the St. Louis metro, afternoon highs are expected to rise into the 40s and 50s, easing daytime ice concerns and improving conditions on major routes such as Interstates 70 and 64. Central Missouri cities like Columbia and Jefferson City should also see several mild afternoons, making for easier commutes and outdoor work.

Western Missouri, including Kansas City and surrounding suburbs, will trend warmer as well, though nighttime temperatures may still dip low enough for refreezing on untreated surfaces.

Despite the temperature rebound, the pattern remains dry. No organized rain or winter weather systems are evident during this period, keeping flooding risks low but limiting meaningful moisture.

Residents are encouraged to remain cautious during early morning hours when slick spots are still possible. Additional outlooks will determine whether the mild trend holds as February continues.
