Las Vegas, Nevada – Nevada moves into the Feb 5–9 period under a dominant above-normal temperature pattern, bringing warmer-than-average conditions and limited chances for rain or snow across much of the state. With the main Pacific storm track displaced well to the north, this stretch is expected to feel quieter and milder than a typical early February.

According to the National Weather Service and regional climate outlooks, high pressure remains anchored over the western U.S., allowing temperatures to trend above seasonal norms while keeping moisture-starved systems away from Nevada. This setup significantly reduces precipitation chances statewide, particularly across southern and central portions of the state.

In Las Vegas and southern Nevada, daytime highs are expected to climb several degrees above average, with mild afternoons and cool but manageable overnight lows. Across northern Nevada, including Reno and the Truckee Meadows, temperatures will also run above normal, though cooler nights will persist. Snow chances in the Sierra and higher elevations remain limited, with only isolated, light snowfall possible at the highest peaks.

The warmer, drier pattern stands in contrast to the prolonged cold gripping much of the eastern U.S., where recent cold spells have contributed to nearly 100 temperature-related deaths in southern states. In Nevada, officials note that extended dry stretches during winter can impact mountain snowpack and water supplies heading into spring.

The above-normal warmth and quiet weather pattern are expected to hold through the period, with little indication of widespread rain or snow returning before the stretch ends.
